Do I Need a Partner?
Partners are not necessary. During a private lesson , your instructor will be your partner. In group classes , you will be dancing with other students.
Yes! Anyone can learn to dance with the help of a qualified instructor. Our instructors work with beginners every day and are able to explain and demonstrate dances in a way that is simple and easy to understand. Like the proverb says: If you can speak, you can sing and if you can walk, you can dance.
Dancing can be enjoyed by people of all ages for a lifetime. It's never too late or too early to start dancing.
Comfortable clothes that allow freedom of movement are desirable, most students wear slacks or jeans.
Comfortable shoes are a must. Tennis shoes should be avoided as they stick to the floor and hinder movement. Flip flops and clogs will fall off. Leather or suede soled shoes are usually your best choice.
Anyone can learn to dance. However everyone learns at a different pace and has different goals in mind. The average person will be able to learn the basic patterns to a dance in as few as six lessons.
During private lessons you receive individual attention which allows the student (individual or couple) to learn at their own pace yet is flexible enough for even the busiest schedules. Group classes are great for practicing lead and follow as well as for repetition. Classes are a fun way to make new friends. For most individuals, I recommend a program with a combination of classes and private lessons.
Yes, gift certificates are available for classes and/or private lessons. These are very popular for special occasions such as birthdays, Christmas, Valentine’s Day and Weddings.
